Enyimba wins but fails to progress to the later stage of CAF champions league football

Victor Mbaoma goals for Enyimba couldn’t save them from going out of the CAF champions league preliminary round.

Despite being 2-1 better than their counterpart Al Merreikh from Sudan.

Al Merreikh were 4-2 better than Enyimba on aggregate.

Al Merreikh open the scoring early enough in the game to seal their qualification into the later stage of the competition.

After winning 3-0 comfortable in the first leg fixtures, they only need to score at least a goal, and defend very well not to concede more than three goals, which they did.

Victor Mbaoma who missed the first leg return to the line up, but his efforts can’t save the people’s Elephant from crashing out of the competition.

Enyimba will now focus on their league matches as they have 💯 performance in the NPFL season.

They won their opening day match against Abia Warriors on Match day one, their Matchday two fixtures has been shifted till 20th of January.
